Wow! I completely underestimated the power that uplifting music would have on my run. I spent some time at the weekend scouring through Spotify, finding my favourite happy songs to get me going. Much as I found Laura inspirational, the music was driving me round the bend! The only trouble is, I can't huff and puff and sing along at the same time - but I sing along in my head, and this morning it really spurred me on. It didn't feel like quite as much effort, which was wonderful! Running is great 😀

I love listening to my music. I sing out loud and do get some strange looks but recently I've started singing in my head as I was getting out of breath quicker but sometimes the music takes hold and it just comes bursting out!!

Couldn't agree more. I started without music and became fixated on counting steps and got all annoyed when I thought the time should have ended...but it didn't. I have a Running List now of songs I know and make me happy. If I have to run for a certain time I think how many songs worth is that and count them down. Sometimes it's annoying that I am told to stop and walk before a favourite song has finished!! My son runs with me and I am totally banned from singing out loud or waving arms etc as he dies of embarrassment (even though we run on country roads and have only seen other people 3 times in 7 weeks). When you are 14 you can't risk it I guess!
