W6R2 (again)

Wednesday (30/08) was my last pre-run after a break. Today I decided to try W6R2. I also decided to give a go for the app instead of Laura and podcast. I downloaded C25K by Zen Labs Fitness, as it is for free and works on my mobile. Unfortunately, I can't have Mr Smooth from BBC :( This app is kind of good, but no encouragements, only 'it is run 1 from 2 runs', 'now run', 'now walk', 'you are half way', 'it is run 2 from 2 runs', '1 min left'.

Oh it was tough, it was challenging. The first 10 minutes was almost ok, I started to flag around 9th min. I was huffing and puffing, with minor stitch, trying to catch breath and rest as much as possible before next run. I picked new route to concentrate on where the hell I am not why I am dying ;) Nevertheless, at one point I wanted to quit, I decided to check my mobile (I never do it) how long it is till the end of the run. It was 3min 46sec. I decided to give it a go. VERY slow, I slow down to the snail pace - eternity. I had the impression that I was running in place. I was so happy when I heard '1 minute left'. I had a longer cool down walk due to wandering around unknown streets in my neighbourhood.

But I did it :D I am very pleased about it. Crossing my home door with volcanic red shade on my face.

Is volcanic on our colour chart? Oh I think we have to find a way of getting you Mr Smooth, so you are not alone, your Zen Labs voice voice sounds exactly like the mechanical voice lady on Map My Run. It's like being prompted by a robot.....

You've been ill, you hiked most of the New Forest at the weekend, you should be pleased. Well done you.

Oh yes, volcanic red is supported by Dulux and us fellow runners. And this is exactly me: red, hot, and sweaty. After most runs I need approx 15-25 min to cool down. You know it's not easy to turn pippinbhot lava into a rock solid runner ;)

Oh, I so need someone like Mr Smooth, not Mr Robot on a next date. At least my playlist was pumping my blood :D

Tomorrow, W6R2 (again and again), as I don't feel ready after break for 25 min of run. But I want to make a running date and run with someone. Joggin Meetup has started in my village. So probably for noe it would be only 2 o us. I am scared as I believe she is a runner, not our type, but a proper one. Haven't responded yet.

Volcanic red is a difficult colour to cool down from! So to get from lava to solid rock, yes I reckon 20 minutes minimum cool down.

Jogging Meetup - oh that's a nice idea, I understand how you feel though I'd be scared of meeting a proper runner, in case they have sweatbands and stopwatches and look all serious! ;)

Don't stay on W6 forever, otherwise your graduation bling will fade whilst waiting for you, but when you've been poorly it takes a little while to get back to full strength.

Good luck next time out, let us know how the jogging meet up goes...

I am also afraid that Mrs Runner will want to chat during running while I concentrate on not dying, meaning breathing.

I won't stay on W6 forever ;) don't worry. I was stuck on W5 for quite a long time as well. Do you remember when I was writing about some psychosomatic bulls..t? Every times things are getting serious, my body decides that it's high time for some kind of IC time. But every time I am getting back and moving slowly forward with programme :) My Gremlins are much weaker than me supporting by you and other forum members. They can hide deep, as I will be kicking their miserable as..es every single time :P

Fab well done, we like snail pace round here, it's what gets us all through! Best of luck for the rest of the week from a fellow volcanic facer!

Glad you're on the mend and running again. I was wondering, how is your neck? Any idea of the cause, because I've been suffering with that too? Been treating it with heat packs when it's bad.

I'm also going to run W6R2 (again) tomorrow - I found it really tough when I did it a few days ago and feel I need to consolidate this one before moving on.

My neck hurts a little from time to time, but is healing. The reason? Maybe sitting in drought, maybe. Few days before it started I was driving with an open widnow as my dog was too hot. I cannot think of any other reason. As I read it might be due to stress, bad pillow and/or bed mattress, and some serious problems. If you have it repeatedly, i might be worth visiting chiropractor to check if your backbone is ok.
