Well well well........ they really do work
I have really struggled and battled my way through my last four or five 5k consolidation runs suffering with really heavy legs, aching muscles and total lack of energy.
I've been reading on here for weeks the importance of good hydration and warming up so finally decided to give it a go. I've never been a great water drinker (except gallons of tea and alcohol) but yesterday thought I would keep myself hydrated with the good old council pop. The only downside was needing a pee several times in the night LMAO.
Also, my "warm up" walks after my dynamic stretches had reduced from 5 minutes to getting to the end of the road (about a minute). This time however, I decided to brisk walk for a good 15 minutes uphill and after my breathing had steadied my body felt ready to go. And go it did. Wow!!!
I managed to "bang out" 6.2k and ran for 41 whole minutes.
So, if proof were needed ......... hydration and warm ups make a HUGE difference. Don't just read the advice on here like I did and mull it over .... actually do it.
What a difference.
Cheers all.
