Holiday Runs

Well here I am, on holiday dressed in all black running gear and having just finished a run down to and along the beach. I've been using the last run on c25k and repeating the times. It's been very helpful havibg the familiar voice telling me i'm half way there etc. The route was amazing and the freedom to just run where ever was great. As the sun rose up in the sky i started to think that black wasn'tthe wisest choice. Running along the beach was fab, just at the shoreline so the waves stopped just by my feet. (The heavy sand was a bit trickier with not much grip) I can now confirm that the confused look of non runners at that time of the morning is international. There were several fellow peeps out and we exchanged the nod and smile which again seems to be international. The strangest thing is that i am actually running for ru nings sake now. I have been here for 5 days and jave been out on 3 x 5k+ runs. (That is so crazy) It was only 10 weeks ago that I signed onto this web site and made the decision to make some changes.

If you had told me then where my head would be now i wouldn't have believed it. But sure enough here I am. Anyway its probably time for me to get in the pool and chill out a bit.

I saw an interesting path i will explore tomorrow, (not wearing the black gear though!)

Keep running and smiling.

OJ

Good idea to use the last run on C25K - I may start doing that having lost my mojo. Well done you and what a beautiful setting

The mojos hide out with the gremlins right underneath your running shoes:)

Woohoo! Well done. Keep,up,the good work. Remember to,take, your rest day though. Do swimming on those days, and some sightseeing 🙂

I ran on the beach recently, early morning, and it was joyous. It makes you feel so happy 😃

Happy holidays!

Thanks, I'm def taking the rest days don't worry! I'm fortunate to have a pool here so the swimming is taking care of itself. I went sightseeing yesterday and covered 18km on foot. Don't think i've ever been as active on a holiday, well not for a long time anywho! Now..where is that sun cream?

What a wonderful location! Glad you are enjoying your holiday runs (in your dark stealthy ninja garb)...

Ninja garb lol. Yeah it is great for home runs in London but a bit dark for the sunshine. I will be in dayglo on Friday for sure! Oj

That looks fantastic.

There is something invigorating about watching the sun rise across a beach and ocean.

Man in Black running on a beach, any aliens nearby? Tommy Lee Jones in the distance? The beach looks glorious and a heck of an incentive to run, but you don't need that now do you, you are running because you love it.

Happy running...

Any clues as to where that fabulous beach is? It's a very special place. Lucky you.

It's a place called meia praia beach in the town of Lagos. Algarve, Portugal.

Looks and sounds wonderful. I have got a holiday coming up at the end of October and have already been looking at google maps for runs along the beach and harbour. This was unthinkable 4 weeks ago. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. Well deserved and well done. Inspiring.

I just head out and see where i end up. Once you hit the sea its a simple left or right here. Have a lovely holiday.

Lovely setting, I'm quite jealous.

I love holiday running too and now my running kit is the first thing on my packing list if I go away. 😀

It had the best spot in ny case too.( I'm pretty sure it was the reason i was 3 kilo's over and had to pay at the check in)

It's unbelievable isn't it , never thought my trainers would be coming on holiday with me but they did and I have completed Week 8 whilst here, I went at 630 as I dislike running in the heat , a lot of people must think the same I passed quite a few joggers - I ran on the promenade along the sea , I loved the different scenery a much more enjoyable run , 😁
