Slow and steady, you can do this.

Haha you're optimistic 😂

Hahaha, I felt just the same, trust yourself and the programme, you may surprise yourself, good luck and keep posting as you progress. 😁

Will do. I wanted to die at 90 seconds on my W2 runs so will be interesting to see if I can do it!

Me too, every run I finish absolutely amazes me.

You too? Welcome to the forum :) x

Breathe in and out, put one foot in front of the other (having put your trainers on first of course). And then repeat after me " I will run for 3 minutes" . Seriously get your head doing the run successfully and the legs will follow. No need to channel Usain Bolt, just take it slowly, surely and steadily. You'll do it and we are waiting to hear how you feel when you do.

Happy running...

gimmehopejoanna I also dreaded it but surprised myself and enjoyed it even though it was HARD work. W3R3 for me tomorrow - eeeek!

The same way as you did the other runs.. one slow and steady step after the other... just relax and go with each run :) You really can do this.. believe it :)

I felt just like that! But if you've done weeks 1 and 2, I'm sure you can. Just go out and try, keep it slow and steady and you'll surprise yourself.

You can do it, believe in yourself and just keep on with the next step when you think you can't and you'll find you can. I'm sure Laura will be encouraging you, and just think how you'll be able to tell us all about it afterwards. That often kept me going. 😀

I felt exactly the same as you but I decided that slow and steady will win this race and that's exactly what I did!!

In the beginning I was very conscious of how fast other people that I saw were running but now I just run to what my body tells me to do!!

To make the 3 minutes go a little faster I also sing to myself 🎤 Yes, I receive some strange looks from the rabbits 🐰 but other runners just smile and say morning!! Try it and you'll find the minutes tick past.......

Good luck for Week 3 👍🏼👍🏼

Not running until tonight! I'll be keeping everyone posted though! It's reassuring to hear everyone else that has done it though x

Aww thanks for all your support guys! I'm a regular gym goer anyway and as so many of my friends have pointed it - my fitness isn't in question here. It's all in my damn head! Fingers crossed for tonight!

Each week is a step into the unknown, but the programme is designed to get you running non-stop for 30 minutes. Many of us have tried and succeeded. It is doable by dedicating yourself to running 3 times a week.

Trust me in a few weeks time you will look back and wonder how you ever thought you couldn't do it. You've got this!

As badly and begrudgingly as the rest of us did! :) Go for it!

Fantastic! How did you get on? I'm attempting w3r1 tomor and although I'm excited to get out and try it I'm also terrified I won't manage it and get disheartened and give up!

That's exactly how I felt. I won't lie. It was really bloody hard. I dropped my pace a little and I actually did it!

I felt the same but it works / slowly steadily you go 😃

gimmehopejoanna profile image
gimmehopejoanna in reply toWannabefit19

It does... I'm still mega slow and find it hard to imagine going faster but I didn't think I'd run for three minutes 3 weeks ago x

Wannabefit19 profile image

I'm on wk 6 and still slow - working on distance and time before speed like suggested on here . I'm trusting in the plan and taking each run , steadily, at a time .

gimmehopejoanna in reply toWannabefit19

That's what I changed last night. I dropped the pace a little. I was never going to run as long as I needed to at the pace I was going going!

You will do it. Felt the same and am now still doing slow and steady on week 6. Found it amazing how you can do it - just believe in the program - seems to be a miracle to me

I did it! I ran for three whole minutes twice! Yay! Still wondering how they hell I'll ever get to 5 mins next a week though - never mind 30!

You will - amazes me each time I hit the next milestone but the programme is good. Well done you 🎉🎉🎉

Incrementally - that's how we do it! (Since C25k it's my fave motivational word for all problem solving - others glaze over but we - and our bodies - know better!) am now going to try incrementally to get out of bed and get going!!! Aargh!!

Run to a song that you like. Most songs are around 3 mins. Sing along out loud or in your head. It’ll soon go. You CAN do it
