Week 6 Run 3

Never in a million years would I have believed anyone telling me I could run for 25 minutes - but I surprised myself and did it :) Felt so smug and I was smiling for the rest of the day - if I can do it everyone on here can, I am still very slow but I did it! Very disheartened with my scales though as no matter how hard I try the weight will not budge - I have eaten healthy since starting C25K but the pounds are not going - I am just hoping eventually they will :(

Firstly WELL DONE, the rest now is just a formality and you'll be on the podium before you know it, don't worry about speed that will come as your strength improves.

Don't worry to much about the scales at this point, look in the mirror, use a tape measure.

Muscle weighs more than fat and your body will be changing, you will be losing fat but gaining muscle, your shape will be changing as in some areas you may put size on calves etc but fat will burn off in other areas and it's still early days

Hey Heartlesstroll (I feel so bad saying that!!).

Firstly, you were absolutely right to be smiling for the rest of the day. I remember that run and it's bloody hard work so well done you. Here's to week 7. :)

Regarding the weightloss, I'm in the same boat and it's frustrating. I console myself by thinking that C25K must be doing some good on that front. I wouldn't go overboard on the protein but try having a protein snack/meal shortly after your run, with protein making an appearance in your main meal of the day too. Grilled chicken, eggs, yogurt etc. Hopefully that might help and will keep you full between meals too. I find that when I do that properly during the week then the weightloss is a bit better.

Hey heartless, well done on getting that run done. It's a great achievement. As to weight loss I think rolysmate and snack_shack are spot on. Your body and fitness will be improving, you just have to keep trucking and doing what you've been doing. Well done you are 2/3 of the way through. Fantastic achievement
