A most enjoyable read :) And you can sense his self restraint LOL - what he REALLY wants to write would be more along the lines of "get OFF your fat drunken disease and disability prone AR--ES and start RUNNING!!!" 😂

Hahaha yes, and I identify! I've been told I get "crazy eyes" when I talk about running... 😳

Yes, thanks for the link! Another interesting point in the article is: 'There is a further factor in explaining why we don’t run. The British in particular are frightened of looking absurd' (so many new people on this forum say how self-conscious they are) but then: 'You do not have to think about the absurd figure you cut exercising in public. You plug in your headphones, turn up the music and blot out the world and all its cutting glances.' And after running for a while, we discover how liberating it is and, as you say, get crazy eyes 👀...

That was a fantastic read, really enjoyed it and lots of it rings true for me.

It is a fab article, and it covers so many of the things we see in our own posts from the newbies through to the graduates. I am a runner, not a great runner, certainly not a fast runner, but I run because now I must. And this article speaks my truth.
