I've downloaded the NHS C25K podcasts (apparently the app isn't compatible with my phone!). Now, I need to figure out a way to "wear" my phone so that I can listen to them hands free. I can see a range of options, but thought you lovely people may have some advice. I'm always up for a bit of DIY, too.

How to carry/wear phone while running
I use a waist belt, my wife uses an arm band. Neither of us would consider using the other's item. It is a matter of personal choice.
I was experimenting with several items and I personally like waist band. I use karrimor, as it was quite cheap. Remember to try to put your phone in as I found some of them too small. I also bought wireless headphones as I had issues with bending wire, and the dangling wire annoyed me. I am very happy with those gadgets no feelin of wasted money.
I always used a wee bumbag for my phone but the strap broke and been just carrying my phone in my head last couple weeks and it's a pain so I'm looking forward to hearing best options too.
I use a spibelt for my phone as I can't feel it once it's on as it doesn't bounce around. There are other cheaper belts on Amazon too. Others use an armband - I started with one I borrowed from my husband but I found it started to rub my arm on the longer more sweaty runs. I know that Rignold just carries his phone. It's just down to what is convenient to you and within your budget.
I wear an armband - two of them actually - one for keys and one for phone. I always feel a bit constricted with belts and bags around my waist (but I am a bit strange 😀 ) I also use Bluetooth headphones/earbuds because ones with wires seem to snag on my neck when I turn my head. You'll find what suits you over time - but the important thing is to be out there running Welcome to a new era in your life!
I always buy shorts/ pants that have a zip for my iPhone, then I thread my ears up through my top which is comfy and practical....
Arm band does it for me and my wife!
I carry my phone in my hand... ears up through my tshirt and front door key on a lanyard round my neck under t shirt ... think I would feel kind of alone without the phone in my hand 😂
I've moved from an armband onto a belt which also has tiny water bottles - I found I was gasping for water when I finished and couldn't wait the 5min walk home 😂
Flipbelt...I wear it round my hips, like Runon I don't like things round my waist.
Karrimor belt with hole that takes earphone wires, altough I use bluetooth . Room for my key and Parkrun barcode too.
I use the pockets of my trousers or shorts. I don't find it a problem to carry my key, inhaler and a tissue in one pocket and phone in the other 😃
I use an arm band.
I carry my phone and water bottle in my hand and inhaler and key in my bra or pockets, will try to run with a light jacket with zip pockets
I use a karrimor running belt which has room for my keys and phone and put my earphone wire under my top so it's not flapping around. I know I wouldn't get on with an armband as I don't like anything tight around my arm but I think it's personal preference.
I have a very small bum bag which holds phone, keys and hankie.
Armband! My wife found me one in Poundland! Quality is good and only cost a quid!!!
Put my phone down my bra ( not sure what the men do !!)
as mentioned, i just carry it (and a camera in the other hand).
What are you using your hands for?
I wear an armband, find it ok but struggle to but my car key anywhere when I drive to a park for my runs! Heard the belts are good, but like everyone says personal preference & budget, there's a small pocket for door key on the armband.
I use a cheap flip belt copy. Holds keys , gtn spray , phone. I use anker sound tag earbuds (only one stuck in ear for music , and jo
Thanks, everyone
I have a waist belt bought from amazon. I can carry keys and coins as well as my phone.
I use an arm band and I love it. It also has a section to hold your house key in which is very handy.
I wear a cycling top, it has pockets in the back, one with a zip for the key and one with an elasticated top which keeps the phone in nicely.
Another vote for Spibelt, I LOVE mine! I have an iPhone 6 in a LifeProof case, it doesn't fit into most belts/armbands but you could pack a picnic in a Spibelt and still never notice you're wearing it!
I have a Spibelt-type belt with dual pockets that cost £3 at Tiger. Xperia 6" phone is no problem, the stretchy pockets expand so much and it doesn't bounce around at all. I use Soundpeats bluetooth earbuds from Amazon.
Another spibelt fan here
