Breathing pattern and thoughts

Hello, I'm about to start week 5. It's not as easy as I had hoped, but I am going to stick with it. Still trying to figure out a good breathing pattern. It's hard to adjust my breathing from walking to running. Other than that, I feel great. I'm turning 40 this year, and I refuse to let myself go downhill.

The advice on the podcasts, and presumably on the apps, is very contentious. Just breathe naturally. If you are having trouble breathing, slow down.

Try reading this theguardian.com/lifeandstyl... It may clarify some things for you.

Slow down... right down.... and just breathe.... like you breathe every day.. don't overthink it.. just breathe. :)

Sing a song in your head.. count, make up a rhyme, plan a meal.. anything to get your mind off it:)

It is like blinking... we do it naturally... but if we think about it... eeekkk ! ( Bet I made you blink ?) :)

Don't worry about it. I'm running the program again after a long term injury and it's okay if it's not easy. It isn't for me now and I've been running for a few years now. Just keep plugging away, slowing down if you have to. Each week gets a little tougher, because you adjust to the demands of the previous week. I bet if you ran the first week it would either be a) easy peasy, or b) you'd run it a heckuva lot faster in which case it might still feel tough.

You're doing great.
