About to get ready for a 25 minute run. Haven't run for this long in quite some years. Any tips to make it through to the end?

Channel Oldfloss and go slow, slower then even slower. Use all your usual mental tips, count trees, sing to the music, swear, scream shout or my new favourite from Mummycav make up running related slogans to car reg plates. So her best one YAA = you are amazing. All or any of these help, but seriously the best one is to believe you can do it. Get your head right and the legs will carry you there. Go do it and let us know how euphoric you feel afterwards...👍😀👟👟👟👟

Thanks so much Hidden 😀. Just back and despite feeling I might stop a couple of times kept on. Feel a bit wiped out but pleased. Hoping next be will be a bit easier! Will try out the techniques above.

Well done you on getting out there and doing it. There's a certain satisfaction in pulling off the hard runs, that really makes it worthwhile.

Chunk it up, take each section slowly at a time... breathe, relax your shoulders, tell your body it's normal to be running and stay calm to the end 😎

Chunking up really helped - harder to think of 25 mins than 5 mins. Managed to keep going and now going to rest 😀

I was about to post "just believe you can" but beaten to it! Think that is the consensus :)

Well....your post reply, says that you did it! Brilliant!

You have got this far in the programme...hold that thought, and focus on your strength. Carry on. taking it slowly, steadily and knowing that you are going to succeed.

Land lightly, and relax into the longer runs...look around, and with each gentle step. enjoy this amazing journey.

"Everything you need, is already inside."

You can do this:)

I am running a half marathon training group at the moment and we walk for thirty seconds after each mile ... the feedback from the group has been that a) they would never have done that as they would have tried to run it all - apparently walking was failing which in my opinion is absolute rubbish! B) they have all said by doing this they don't feel as stressed out keeping going as they know a break will come every mile .... they are now not walking for the first 4 miles (their choice and we are up to 8.5 this week) they are getting stronger each week and the group is staying together better week on week by using this tactic as well .... I am a strong advocate for chunking it up and eventually you will stop doing it as you get stronger ... good luck with your running 😊
