Well I run on average 3 times per week. That's every other day and then 2 rest days together. If I'm feeling really tired I take an extra rest day. Not sure about everyone else but do what feels right for you.

2 rest days to make it fit a week is the usual way off doing it. If you feel you don't need the additional restd ay you could do it every other day. There's no hard and fast rule. Just make sure you take at least one rest day.

I do every other day, as I now seem to have got into a routine, but as bareliz says if tired take an extra rest day. There's no right or wrong way to do this for some people their 'week' is 6 days. For others it can be 10 days or more depending on their commitments. Follow your own path, bareliz is right do what feels right for you because that is the best way on both resting and running...

Yes, all the experienced runners tell you to take a rest day giving you 3 runs per week with a 2day break on the last run. It seems to work nicely for me. And if you need another rest day at another point in the week, no big deal. Just take the rest you need. I usually (try to) walk on my rest days. Only about 30-40 min at a easy pace.

Through the programme I ran every other day until week 7 and then did 3 runs per week for the longer runs.

I was not unfit, and used to going out for fast walks or cycling every day - so it pretty much depends on yourself. If you need an extra rest day or more each week, that's fine. The rest days are when your muscles repair, and build stronger, so they are VERY important. One or two is up to you😀

I try and aim for 3x a week but sometimes take 2 rest days or practice days and don't stress about it. It's important for me to feel relaxed about when to run and not to put pressure on myself that might lead to disappointment. Sometimes life gets in the way and there are other priorities

As Rig a=says.. you must take at least one rest day between runs.. I run Sunday, Tuesday and Friday!

Take extra if you need to, do not miss any rest days!

I'd say suck it and see. I did the early weeks (1-4) using the 3 runs in the week pattern, but I've altered it to every other day more recently (due to run W7R2 tomorrow), just because it was fitting my schedule. I have had a few twinges (nothing that's worried me) but no major problems doing that, so I'm sticking with it for now. See how things go for you and listen to your body.

Fit it round swimming usually and a week is rarely 7 days.

I have been doing it with a colleague at work and we run two lunchtimes a week. I try to fit in another run if I can but mostly it's just the two runs. I know it's not the recommended way but we have made steady progress as per the programme - it's just taking a bit longer!
