So have been at this for 3 weeks now and today my knees are a bit sore. I'm a total running novice so I'm now worried I've overdone it and need to stop. It's kinda at the inside of my knees at the side of my kneecaps. I've gone from hating running to really enjoying it (I know I'm on,y 3 weeks in!) please tell me these aches and pains will pass 🙈

Well done for making it week 3! How are your shoes? If it's possible, it's worth going to a specialist store and getting you gait analysed. This is usually free, but of course they will want to sell you shoes!
Are you stretching at all? There are stretching exercises for runners explained within this NHS C25K area. There are also strengthening exercises that allow your legs to get strong enough to deal with the new strain that you are putting on them.
And finally - remember to run slowly and then more slowly. Speed will come later.
I graduated last month having spent nine months getting through the programme. I had to stop, buy new shoes, drop back, work on strength, drop back, work on stretching... but I got there and it feels great.
Good luck!
Thanks so much for the advice. I am actually looking at purchasing new trainers as we speak. I've had my old trusty ones for a while now and did think they maybe weren't ideal. I have been very conscious not to go too fast as I don't want to end up tired before I finish. Tomorrow is a rest day then I'll be back on it on Saturday so will see how I go.
I've not been stretching prior to run but have made sure I stretch afterwards.
Well done on graduating 👍🏻
Hi there.... good shoes are the thing... you have had the advice... slow and steady is the way and warming up those muscles before and after the run... it pays dividends.. and doing it well
Let us know how you go on Saturday!
