Today I started on week 1 run 1 and I did it. It wasn't easy but I didn't expect it to be.

I've Not ran for 2 years even though I completed the London marathon in 2015. I say completed as I never ran it. I walked 90% minimum but I loved it.

1 day I will do it again though. Until then I will keep plodding along getting better.

Hey join the lapsed runners club, I didn't get as far as you but I was running 10k 3 times a week in 2015. I don't really recall why I stopped, laziness probably with a dash of flakiness too. Not a great combination, but I had this niggle in the back of my mind when I surveyed my porridge stomach (horrid don't ask) and decided to go again. I actually hate things like Facebook and twitter, which seem to me to be far too often about people boasting about beauty, achievement and fostering a sense of envy in others. But what I found here is that this is social media with a conscience, there's no one to judge or to make nasty spiteful comments. Just a bunch of folk willing each and every one of us on. Seems evangelical doesn't it, but welcome to what I honestly believe is the best running club in the world. You're one of us now and we will support you through thick and thin. When you win we will cheer, when you need a hug you'll get those too, technical advice aplenty. But it seems you won't need that you've done a marathon for goodness sake. It doesn't matter by walking or running, you did 26.2 miles. We love plodders here, plod along and we'll cheer loud and proud when you graduate, as you will.
