Our running group meets in about two hours and the weather is lousy, tonight could be fun. Still it will take our mind off our aches and pains and in proper northern fashion I've just made a corned beef ash to come home to.
Day 1 Week 3 and its proper Lancashire weather... - Couch to 5K
Day 1 Week 3 and its proper Lancashire weather, torrential rain π
Blimey corned beef hash, haven't had that in years. I am trying to imagine explaining it to my Italian friends... so big question is what's your recipe and method, are you a mix it inner, or a chunks person? As an exiled Liverpudlian I am from mixing it in stock. Whichever version I hope your run is good and sets up you up for tonight's supper
I have enjoyed following some of your posts and now understand where your humour comes from, you're a scouser, I should have known. π The recipe is fairly basic diced potatoes, diced corned beef when the potatoes are cooked and gravy granules. The wife doesn't do veg so no onions or carrots, but she is from St Helens.
My grandmother would kill you for calling me a scouser.... we never lived near the docks, nor Scotty Road, she said we were Liverpudlian - mind you she did work in Liverpool 8 feet away from Toxteth, so maybe she was being a bit Hyacinth Bucket.... so you're a dicer with no onions then. There's doesn't appear to be a food emoji for corned beef hash.... I did look.
You are a posh northerner you put a H in Hash, now that's class.
Was that class or clarss as my posher southern nancy Mr JCR would say?
Steady on you'll be saying Barth next.
Now, I just had a flashback to eating scouse... I lived in Liverpool in the eighties (interesting times) and sometimes go there for work now- it's a lot posher than it used to be.....
Corned beef Hash, Hmmm, I'll pass thank you- but enjoy your run
Blimey this forum is full of people who know Italian and now Liverpudlian... that is a weird combo. I have to say eating scouse eeugh, that was one Northern habit I was happy to drop
It my first time in a while but it's the cooks night off, I'm out running, so must dash. Have a lovely evening, I look forward to your next post.
