Week 1 day 3

β€’11 Replies

Out earlier still a bit of cloud and wind about so much more pleasant than Wednesday! Going to try to keep some exercise going over the weekend as omg all change on Monday when week 2 begins. Thank you for all your support this week I couldn't do this without you all πŸ˜ƒ

Well done on completing week 1 - don't worry about week 2 as you will be fine. Week one is the hardest week as you are starting from scratch and week 2 just builds on this.

Brilliant to have completed week 1. Make sure you rest your running legs, but there are certainly other kinds of low impact exercise you can be doing on your rest days. I go to the gym and work on core and upper body strength, and do CV on the cross trainer, ski machine, static bike or arm bike. If I'm being really mean to myself I might even try the rowing machine (which I hate with a passion). Swimming is also good and can be quite restorative. Whatever you decide to do, don't do too much and I look forward to hearing about your week 2 runs.

First week done, no longer a new newbie, take W2 slow and steady and you'll be fine

Well done Lorraine, it will be Run 3 for me later today too. I must admit I cannot even begin to think about Week 2. My head is just telling me to put one foot in front of the other, as every step counts.

Well done you.. take the advice offered.. exercise on rest days is very useful and especially as the runs get longer:)

Just keep it at you own pace, and slow and steady does it:)
