So last week was week two of C25k organised by volunteers from a local running club TAC. One of their ladies commented on my extreme overpronating, I thanked her for what I took as a compliment and I resisted any temptation for smutty jokes, she then went on to offer her advice which was to invest in some proper running shoes. After 35 years of marriage I'm very good at taking orders from a lady and promptly started a Google search. I once bought a house for less than the price of some of these running shoes but decided to bite the bullet and order some ASICS with a technical spec. longer than that of the space shuttle, these shoes should be able to run without me. Two days later they arrived, there were more fluorescent colours that a seven year old girl could even dream about and the soles were so wide I would only have been able to run on a dual carriageway. This fat 64 year old chap would have looked like a twelve year old skateboarder, even my boyish good looks wouldn't have carried that off. My wife Kath told me if I set foot out of the door wearing them she would divorce me.....So I advertised for a lady with a GSOH who could clean, wash, iron and cook, two days later not having had a reply I sent them back. I knew I shouldn't have included a photo of me 😞

If you have an extreme anything, should you not take yourself off to a running shoe shop (assuming you can catch it, of course) to try some pairs on before buying? I certainly would not be buying running shoes on line without trying them first.
Maybe that's just me.
It may have been an idea to get yourself checked out at a reputable Sports shop if the lady knew what she was talking about... gait analysis has proved invaluable to many of the runners. have you worn the shoes for running yet?
I'm loving the health tags that put this under chilblains... so back to the drawing board hey? I'm assuming you are keeping your wife.....😀
Better the devil you know and it might take a while to train a new one.......shhhhhhhh don't tell her I said that 👍
Thanks for making me laugh. But definitely take yourself to a proper running shop to get assessed and fitted, down the alternative route injury may lie in wait. If you look at a large group of runners you will find every colour of madness on their feet. Shoe manufacturers struggle to differentiate this season's new offering from the previous one without going ever wilder. I am quite relieved to have moved to discrete black and purple this time!
