Just completed C25K!!

Over 50; rheumatoid arthritis since 1989; metal plate holding an ankle together (broken 7yrs ago) & "just wanting a challenge to tick off"!!

Took a few extra rest days but never missed nor repeated a run throughout the App course.

SO many thank yous: to all of you - for the invaluable advice; to Michael Johnson for the perfect running-companion voice; to ELO - for the perfect, plodding/running music!

Thank you all & currently feeling really proud of myself! 😊

Brilliant, I'm really proud of you. I've got RA too and worry about getting the right level of intensity. Your success is inspirational for me. Thanks for the wonderful post. 🏃

That is amazing. I am going to show my mum this post. She was asking me about it on Saturday but said she is worried about the arthritis in her knee's, she is also in her 50's (54 this week), she doesn't have a metal plate but does have other issues. I tried telling her that she can take more rest days etc, so I hope showing her this gives her some hope and inspiration to give it a go after her holiday. Congratulations!

Very kind reply: thank you! I've taken the pace really slowly, with at least 2 - 5 rest days between every run, with no problems. Your mum will amaze herself at what she'll achieve! All the best 😊

Lots of people on the forum who are "seniors" and with all sorts of medical conditions. Me too with rheumatoid arthritis and other medical stuff but like you I respected the rest days, eventually after months not weeks getting to the end of C25K and have since carried on running. I'm just so grateful I can do it. I've starting trying some new stuff now: about to go out to do a second "dry run" around a local running club's course for a handicap race I'm in on Thursday this week ... wish me luck, I got lost the last time I went out to try the course and had a 9.5K jog!! OUCH!

Huge congratulations :) Well done you!

That badge looks great on you!

Fabulous Mr Smooth is my coach of choice too, but you're the first person I've read who has got there with him (since I've been on here of course - no disrespect to Mr Smooth). No misses or repeats you are a star
