Second practice run for Parkrun on Saturday!

Photo is more a post-run footsie than a post-run selfie!

I aim to do Parkrun on Saturday morning, having done my graduation run last Saturday. For the runs this week I've done two practices where I run 5k without stopping, thus exceeding the 30 minutes.

There's a path across Farmoor that divides it into 2 separate reservoirs. The perimeter of both reservoirs is 4.6 k so to do 5 k I started and finished on that middle path.

When I started, there was a strong wind behind me (you can see the sailing club out there), and I set off at a cracking pace (for me). Then of course as I went round, I started to battle against the wind. However, by the time I got to the home segment when it should have been behind me again, irritatingly it dropped completely, and didn't boost me through the final km!

Still 36:06 is a "personal best" for 5km, so a good preparation for Parkrun on Saturday.

Unlike Monday's run, no stopping at all (the Monday route led to some inevitable stops to cross roads, open gates etc).

Sounds great. I will be Park running on Saturday but my practise run this week has been less successful than yours.

Have a good run Saturday.

DON'T SWEAT PARKRUN!!!!! I did my first parkrun when I completed W2D1 of C25K (including the 5 minute warmup and cooldown) . I did my 100th parkrun on the week before I went to the UK for a holiday a few months ago - did my 101'st at Fountains Abbey pr - and then broke my foot!!!!! I couldn't even walk parkrun right now - but I can volunteer :) More importantly - have fun!!!!

Great pic! Enjoy the park run. I've only done one and loved it. I wasn't last which was my main worry - how stupid is that? Anyway I've only just remembered that I've signed up for Decathlons 5k race at Crawley next weekend. Gulp. Think its more serious as you have numbers pinned on. But its the taking part isn't it (trying to convince myself...)
