Wk4 about to commence

Just finished wk 3 run 3. Bit behind as life got in the way, weekends away etc. Hopefully I'll be able to do this! I did find wk 3 hard! Though the last run was ok, but I think I may have been helped by pmt & running off the stress!! Now it's not so hot, I'm also hoping this helps! :)

Great job sticking with it. I've been a bit behind too. Sometimes it's just been far too hot to run. I completed W4R2 last night and it was so much better than my W4R1. It's strange and amazing how quickly your body adapts. What I mean to say is that even if you do find it a struggle, just get out there again because your body will probably surprise you.

Tonight I did run 2, I don't think it was easier.. after the 1st 5 min run - definitely groaned when it stated I had 1 minute to go as I'd thought I'd been running for yonks!!

I do feel healthier though - I did a week one run at the gym on Tuesday as interval training and also played netball. I've not got the strongest of lungs, but I'm hoping they'll get better!! :) well done on keep going!

Great job! That's a cool idea, using it as interval training. Tomorrow I should be doing Week 5 Run 2. I think it has some 8 minute blocks of running. Seems outrageous and unachievable, but then so has every single one of these runs. That's funny! I've done far worse than groan when I hear that ding to start running. 😁

Well done! I finished week 4 yesterday- stupidly after a bike ride earlier in the day! Wk 5 starts tomorrow. As long as work ends at a reasonable time! I've not weighed myself in a while but I hope I've lost at least a 1lb doing this! Slightly worried I have to run for 8 minutes but I thought 5 was impossible! Keep going! :)

Yay! Week 5 has been a toughie for me. I need to start biking too. There is a Sprint triathlon near the end of September. It's probably my main reason for starting this whole C25k thing in the first place. My next run is that big 20 minute hurdle...a game changer as far as I'm concerned. I keep putting it off. I should have done it this morning, but today is very hot--a high of 106F, so I have to wait for some slightly cooler weather. I weigh myself daily. I've lost weight, but I'd attribute most of it to a much healthier diet. Well, I'll be rooting for you this week! Get it girl!

I've completed wk 5 run 1 but only on a treadmill. Is this okay? I've a horrendous cough & im scared of running outside & not making it! I figured I might continue to do wk5 run 1 indoors until I can breathe without spluttering! How did your 20 min run go?

Of course it's okay! Fantastic job! I survived it. I just did Week 6 Run 1, which I'd been warned was deceptively tough, and it was, of course. Mostly because 5 minutes sounds like nothing after that big 20, so I ran way too fast for that first bit. (had a 9 min mile, my fastest yet). But the last bit was much slower and tougher (12.5 min mile). Times don't matter at all, but it does help me understand why the last 5 minute interval was so tough. I can't imagine running with a cough. You are hardcore! If you don't make it, it's definitely the cough's fault.
