I might be the slowest - but I think I'm going to give it a whirl. In The Centenary Park, Peacehaven, East Sussex. Am already looking forward to the cafe afterward (v nice cafe ) and meeting other local runners π

First park run on Saturday
My parents live there! (Near Hoddern school) I'm sure you'll have a great time x
You won't the slowest - that's the job of the 'tail'.
I am going to do my first parkrun on Saturday providing my asthma is ok. Only been out once this week. Good luck
Do it, do it, do it ππββοΈI promise it will be fine, go along, join in, have fun, there will be a 'first timers' briefing, I bet you won't be the only 'first timer', if you're not sure what to do, where to go, grab anyone, all the volunteers will be in high vis vests, but any parkrunner will help you - that's how it is!
Above all enjoy - oh and report back afterwards, you'll be hooked! π

I love parkrun β€οΈ
Enjoy. I did my first parkrun last week. Great atmosphere really friendly bunch of people. Lots of families , dogs and runners/walkers of all abilities. Doesn't matter whether you are first or last it's the realisation that you are runner!!!
Thanks for encouragement, you encouragers you! so good to have. Will definitely report back so will have to go !!! Am intrigued to find out how many will be there
Also doing my first one tomorrow. Oak Hill in London. Looking forward to it. Good luck to everyone else doing the same.
You'll love it. I've done Tooting Common and South Norwood Country Park ones so far and loved them, intending to do some regularly if I can get the diary in order. Let us know how you get on.
Oh and you can look at previous run reports on the parkrun site and see the times and numbers of runners etc.
I've just seen them! Some of them run it in the space of time it takes me to tie my laces and decide which earbud goes in which ear!!!
Look at the bottom of the list, that's the times I look at and where I usually am π
Thanks - found list. Yes - 51mins or so is bottom. So I am aiming for about that - as have been trained by this forum to go slow and steady πππ. Oh and I won't mind if I walk a bit...and I won't mind being overtaken. Much
Must sprint over the finish line though Gillma! π
You betcha!!! Sprinting Sussex Snail
Just joined your snail group without asking, Oldfloss! Hope you don't mind ππ
π think old floss used to be a sprinter back in the day..
@Oldfloss (this @ prefix doesn't liven the link for me - can anyone else call in Oldfloss?)
Follow her Gill, then she'll see your posts..
It's a recently new Parkrun there with just 8 runs and there were 33 first timers last week..have a good one!
Me too at Horsham. Still nervous and walked 1 circuit of the 3 laps to see where it goes. Silly at my advanced age to be nervous. I will do this (saying it louder to convince myself) π―
Hope you enjoy it. Think I'm going to try my first parkrun at Horsham tomorrow. Walked 1 circuit of the course yesterday. Silly of me being nervous at my age but know I will be exhilerated once its done. Snails pace will do as long as I keep going.
You'll love it! Let us know how you get on.
I did it and so pleased with myself!
Horsham parkrun results for event #154. Your time was 00:35:46.
Congratulations on completing your 1st parkrun and your 1st at Horsham parkrun today. You finished in 369th place and were the 148th female out of a field of 442 parkrunners and you came 4th in your age category
Even more amazed at my time and it was raining and muddy underfoot.
I am so hooked on runningβΊοΈ
My husband has done the Peacehaven run Gillma and he was "in the tail" but really enjoyed it. That is my aim for the autumn so I will see you there!
Good luck. I have to agree with you that the cafe there is great and the Farm Shop is a fabulous addition to the area!
Feeling more positive me and JT are bringing sexy back
