Taken all your advice, going to try a park run on Saturday, but only on W7 R2, do I walk the remaining distance or try and brick it?

See how you feel. I did my first park run a couple of weeks ago at the end of week 5 and ran all the way. I kept it nice and slow as didn't know how I was going to go on but will speed up a bit next time.

Are you going to carry on with your C25k then? Or focus on 5k?

Carry on with C25k. If I have chance to go on a Saturday to the park run I use the third run of the week and just extend it.

Give it a try. Don't put yourself under any pressure to run it all. I did Parkruns when I started to do them during the plan as my 3rd run of each week after week 5. The first run is just to get a PB time. Each one you do after that you can try and beat your time. Enjoy. They are great fun, easy going and remember, no pressure.

Yes give it a try. For my first one I started at the back, walked the first 5 minutes and then ran at my own pace, slow and steady. It's really useful to know what running 5K feels like and to be timed to get your first PB. Enjoy yourself😊

My advice as a Parkrun newbie would be that it's really easy to get caught up in the event and run too hard or too fast, take it easy and pace yourself, walk as much as you need (lots of others will) and look at it as a learning experience... oh and have fun!

Thank you all, did my first Parkrun yesterday, bit scary as I didn't know the process or anyone, managed PB of 37 mins, feeling absolutely whoop whoop, not easy trying to breathe yesterday, guess that was the humidity, but I'll be there again next week. Now inspired to carry on Tues and Weds with C25K again.
