Meant to post this last weekend. Started Couch to 5k on 27 December finished last week and woke up on Saturday thinking should I just have a go at a Park Run?? I persuaded my husband to drive....support...and be there at the end and went for it.
The Run was at Rosliston Forestry Centre with about 200 runners and it was an amazing experience. I came in 6th in my age range (out of 6 I think!) but was encouraged on every step of the way by the Marshalls around the course. My App said 5.5kms...no stopping...a shuffle at times but such a sense of achievement. And a bit of a sob at the end, it really was emotional as I never thought I could take part in an event like this.
If an old bird of nearly 62 can do this you can too so just try one, try interval running walking if you need to and just try something out of your comfort zone. Good luck!

Fantastic ππ»ππ»ππ». I've just done W8r2 and a Park Run is something that keeps popping into my head. I'm 67 so it really would be a big thing for me. They always look fun so I'll see how I feel after I've completed c25k πππ½ββοΈ
I'm so envious of those that can get to do a parkrun. Unfortunately as they're held on Saturday mornings I miss out as the kids have taekwondo classes π hopefully when our daughter is good enough to do the advanced class I can join in as their classes don't start until 11, at the minute though she's only on her first belt so another 5/6 belts to go.
