I followed some advice here and slowed down, I was able to make through the entire run! My asthma didn't act up, I didn't have to throw up, it was so nice! My poor calves though, they were letting me know they weren't happy with me by the end of the time!
end of week 1: I followed some advice here and... - Couch to 5K
end of week 1
See you did it, as all the folk said. Well done you and if the calves are aching a bit that's kind of okay from what I read here, it's only if it's pain that you should be concerned. Progress has to be no asthma attack, no throwing up or dry heaving - that's a great set of milestones met in Week 1. I hope you are encouraged by your strength...
Great job!! Make sure to massage them. I have the same issue and it's getting a bit better.
Well done keep it up
That's how the next 8 weeks are going to be... can I do it?? Will I break myself?? Ohh, I did it!!
today was week 2, run 1. I finished, but I did throw up once, mostly because of my stupid gag reflex, I can't stand anything in the back of my throat and I was sniffling, so yeah. I made it through, but barely. I am sure my calves will get stronger as I go on, usually by halfway through they are burning like crazy. I am sure if I lose some of this weight that will help as well! Thanks for the encouragement. I was just talking to my doc (I work in the same building as him, he also has asthma and is a marathon runner) and was saying that although I do get out of breath, I haven't had any actual asthma attacks since I started, he was pretty impressed because it doesn't take much for me. He said that it means I have good breathing control while I am running. Yay for at least something going right lol
Yeah well done Peggy 😊
Great to get a👍from your doctor too..
Keep up the good work
