Hi everyone, I'm new to running and currently on day 3 of week one of the couch to 5k. I've got no previous running experience but signed myself up to do a charity 10k next year as a goal of mine. looking for some advice and tips to help me along on my journey. Thanks

Welcome.

Read around the forum and you will pick up all sorts of info.

Follow the plan, ALWAYS take your rest days, run as slowly as you need to breathe comfortably and be prepared for your life to change in ways you never imagined.

This is a brilliant training plan and a wonderful forum of people who understand what you are going through. Enjoy the journey.

Everything IannodaTruffe said.. and then some.. slow and steady does it:)

It's not easy but the plan is perfectly designed to take you step by step to running for 30 minutes. My advice would be to concentrate on the run ahead and not scare yourself by looking ahead. Every week I thought Laura was having a laugh, when she told me what we would be doing but each week I managed it; and so can you.

Oh yes I agree, drop in here often. The forum is great motivation 👍🏃‍♀️👍

Welcome to the forum! Take one run at a time, congratulate yourself generously on every success, and report back on your journey here, we're all very well-practiced pompom wavers.

Hi Rachael. I'm also new to this, week 1 run 3 completed this evening. I've also signed up to a 10km next May (Great Manchester Run). It's a bit daunting isn't it? Thinking that we are only running 60s so far but by May we can hopefully run for 100 times that (60 minutes!) 😳 good luck on the journey xx

That's the best motivation - a race in the future. Keep it slow and steady, build up slowly and enjoy.
