Hi all. I completed w6r1 last Friday and a niggling leg played up so I havent been out since. Leg was swollen for a few days but today it's ok. Im feeling the fact that I haven't been out for 6 days so should I repeat w6r1 or carry on. Or shoukd I just walk for now. Thanks !

Try it and see how you get on. You can pick up from where you left off and see how it goes

Niggles go with the territory but as you slowly work your way through the sessions you will get stronger and they should clear off 🙂✔️👍

Just do the sessions really steadily. No need to push at all

Depends what you mean by niggly, where and why did it swell? It sounds from what you say that you have had it before. If so then what did you do last time?

One of the easiest ways to turn a short term injury into a long term (chronic) or recurrent injury is to simply 'man up'.

If the goal is to see how much damage you can do to yourself in the shortest time, the best thing to do would be just carry on exactly where you left off.

If on the other hand, the goal is a long term one of incremental improvements to health and wellbeing, then it's probably best to go into recovery mode. Rewind a bit to before your injury. See if you can run an easy run without pain. Any pain (and by pain, I don't mean perfectly normal slight discomfort, I mean pain as in the sense that something is tearing or collapsing) then stop immediately and note that the injury is not sufficiently healed yet.

The main reason I'd strongly advise against picking up where you left off is that it's human nature to try to complete a challenge. But everyone is different. If you can be honest with yourself and say that you'll definitely stop if there's pain, then I'd say try it and see. But if your anything like me and others in know, you'll get some into what you're doing that you'll push just that little bit more, right up to the point where things break. Then it's weeks or months of physio and rehab in a dull and boring gym.

I would go on to run 2, six days isn't a biggy. Apparently it takes two weeks to loose your fitness.

Thanks all for the advice. I think I'll go out in the morning and see what happens. I will stop though if anything feels not quite right
