Time for small update - W5R3

Hi my running family :)

I was quiet recently, but I was following C25K. I managed to complete W5R3 yesterday. I struggled a lot, it was hot and humid, and I had problems with breathing most of the time. Weather can make a huge impact on the run. I may repete this run tomorrow to feel more confident. But I kind of look forward to going back to intervals, so I'm not sure.

Those whonare here a little longer may remember that I reached this point in the past, but this is the furthest I got in the programme. So I'm really eager to do W6R1. However, my second half of the brain repets our mantra "slow and steady", it is not a race, and it is ok to repeat the run. I think I decide tomorrow while putting on my running shoes ;)

I am both very happy to get so far and in the end completed full 20 min of running, and sad as I remember how much easier it was when I did it for the first time.

Have a nice runs :)

You are doing great IgaT.

You are right, slow and steady is the way. You can do this! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿป

Thank you. I think after some unnecessary stress and weird pressure from within in the beginning, now I am more chilled about this programme. I am just trying to do one run at a time, and go every other day. But if I need 2 days of break, that's fine as well.

So now, the important thing is to go out and run, and whether it is run from week 3 or week 5, it doesn't matter so much. It is nice to see improvement and how week after week is just passing by. But I concentrated on just running :)

I remember slightly disappointed by this run. Every other post on here seemed to be full of someone absolutely euphoric because they had just finished W5R3 and I wondered why I didn't feel the same when I finished.

Looking back, I think it was mainly because to me it was just another run on the programme and as I had quite a few more to go the celebration seemed somewhat premature. So I was just looking to get on with the job.

For you, I imagine it is harder to feel that way as you have been here before and probably feel frustrated to be further back than you planned last time you did the run - when every run was a PB and an exciting step into the unknown.

It is, of course, up to you, but I think as you did the run - it may not have felt as good as the last time, but you still did it - why hold back now when W6 awaits? Put it behind you. You have good runs and bad runs, that's all part of the journey. If you go out and do the same run tomorrow and still don't enjoy it, you will wish you had just moved on or you may risk turning it into groundhog day.

Thanks :)

More disappointed I was how bad I felt, how difficult breathing was. I was still proud that I finished the run, maybe even more as I did it despite those difficulties. But yes, the first time I was quite euphoric about it.

I will probably move to week 6, as I had a look in the plan of the programme, and soon I will be running without intervals again. So nothing lost ;)

I totally agree with concentrating on the run that is happening without worrying about past or future runs. I learnt it somewhere during last weeks :) The most important is just going out and running ;)

Well done to you. That's the biggie, but I don't think you need to repeat it. You've ticked it off so now you're ready to move on to the next one.

I agree with Ip and Whatsapp and jacsw๐Ÿ˜Š

You did it Iga. It was tough because of the heat but still a success. ๐Ÿ˜„

Move on to Week 6 you are ready. Good luck. xx

Onwards and upwards.

Yay!! You did it! That's the main thing! I was the same, I dreaded this run and longed to go back to intervals, now I prefer to just keep running! W5R3 was a huge milestone for me, it is still hard but that run was the point at which I really began to believe I could do the whole thing! Keep at it, I think we all have good and bad runs, it's like everything in life! Haha. xx

Thanks :) I will continue with the programme without repeats, as long runs will come again in the programme, and they will come soon ;)

One run at a time, and just go out and run whatever Laura is telling me to run :P

I'm at the same stage as you - did W5R3 yesterday even though I'd been telling myself I would just repeat R2 because there was no way I could do R3! But I did it! Let's just go on to W6R1 and keep going!!!
