Running withdrawal symptoms

I ran 5k on Tuesday and on Thursday evening my lower back hurt. Think I've pulled a muscle but don't think it's running related. It's a bit easier today but would like advice as to when I can resume running. Can't believe how much I'm missing it 😭

Rest up until the pain has settled...we ignore pain at a cost!

It is hard to not run... and many of us do have some time when that happens because of non -run related injury...it could be connected with your running though..

Maybe check this out... hope it heals soon :)

When the pain has gone what do you advice as to warm up and length if time Running? Previously the only warm up I did was the 5 minute walk. What other warm up preparations can I do?

Lots of debate about warm ups... i do remember reading a reply of Rignold 's a year or so ago.. about bum kicks and marching.. I found this useful reading..

womensrunning.competitor.co...

I do bum kicks and long leg walk and arm swinging, shoulder shakes etc etc....but I faff about so much before I head out.. that I am usually well warmed up and then a really relaxed but brisk walk, often longer than five minutes...:)

Thanks for that. Sounds like my warm up time needs to be longer in the future 😁

Well, if it is any help.. I am going to extend mine even more...still on the IC and think I need to up my game... and my after run schedule too.. ( The old legs clearly need a bit more TLC ) ! You will be fine :)
