Lacking motivation- wk6 run3

Dreading my 25 minute run - wk6 run3. Running for 20 mins last week was a real achievement as I had no confidence. The shorter runs since have been tough. The weather isn't much of a motivator either. Even though I've not completed the program my 5k run is on Sunday. I'll definitely be walking and running.

Just get out there and remember to go slow and steady. Let your mind wander and let your legs take care of themselves. Most of all RELAX and enjoy the run.

Good luck with your 5K on Saturday - events always make you perform better as you have the lift of the crowd and other runners to help you.

Good advice. Just relax and try to enjoy the run. Best of luck with your 5k. There is nothing at all wrong with running/walking your way around the course. You won't be the only one. I have done 6 x 5k Parkruns and only managed to fully run one of them. Enjoy taking part and you'll be so proud when you get across the finish line.

Sounds like it's not the running that's the problem but your confidence. Yes the runs have been tough- but you've done them. Lots of people find week 6 intervals difficult and go on to graduate and so can you. Over the last 6 weeks, you have gone from not running at all (I assume) to running for 20 minutes non-stop. The programme has been preparing your body for the next run. You are ready!

Try and be positive, run very slowly and if you struggle, slow down a bit more!

Tell yourself that you can do this (and Laura will have a very special message at the end of your run!)

Thank you guys for your positive messages. I accomplished my 25 minute run and it felt great. Helen your right it is my confidence that I battle with. I am completely new running and although the 5k on Sunday is daunting it will be a real achievement.
