W7R1... tough!

Still recovering from this mornings 25 minute run !

This was my biggest struggle from W1, every minute I wanted to stop , it just seemed to go on forever and I'm glad it's over.

Think I was tired before I started and really felt old and weary, just hope r2 is better and I'm back loving the feeling again πŸ™

On a more positive note I did however keep going and complete it through gritted teeth and fighting spirit πŸ’ͺ

Well done for keeping going. The urge to stop can at times be overwhelming.

Thank you .

The thought of having to repeat it kept me going πŸ˜“

I remember using the same mental tactic. Thinking, if I don't get through it this time (or even, if I don't get out the door this time), it will be harder next time. So, well done for keeping going!

Just slow right down... take your rest day with a bit of exercise on that day...it is time to relax into the longer runs now.

You have come this far, nothing to lose, everything to gain... go slow and steady and enjoy the journey towards the podium :)

Thank you OF.

I hear you every run and I keep it slow and steady! Best advice ever 😊

I actually think I started out anxious as all runs are now longer , even though I manage it physically (slowly), mentally I'm not yet convinced I can Keep doing it 😳

This running malarkey can be a strange thing !

It really can...You are doing just fine...:)

I have, as far as I know up to yet done it all 'by the book' and had aterrific time and still am.. and yet.. currently on the IC, with a weird calf issue and having had to invest in a roller... and now looking at the wonders of a Sports massage :)

We never know where this path will lead us but it is terrific fun!!!

One day or run at a time 😊

TBH,I'm so grateful that I can actually make some sort of attempt at it , good day or bad !

Best wishes for a speedy recovery 😘

Its quite mentally tough at this stage, but you made it so well done:

Sarahb18 - 1 Gremlins - 0

You are balancing XX years as a non-runner Vs. 7 Weeks running, so the change to your psyche will take some time, and quite a few more runs before you believe that you are a runner.

That definitely makes sense !

Didn't actually get what gremlins were until this morning when I'm sure I had a whole family on my back 😱

They can all clear off as I struggle carrying myself πŸ˜‚

I flick them off my shoulder and leave them at the corner πŸ‘πŸΌ

They weigh heavy until you put your running gear on though...

Well done for completing it despite your gremlins best efforts. I was exactly the same this morning - I'm one run ahead of you and have found these 25 minute runs a battle but have found a way to switch off and ignore my gremlins and just push on !! We will soon both be onto week 8 and then graduation week to follow πŸ‘

Well done to you too !

They are tough runs and we're doing it πŸ’ͺ

Good luck with the next two weeks and look forward to joining you on the podium 😊

Read some previous posts about the toxic ten, those first ten minutes when your body does not realise it needs to move to 'running mode' and change the way it utilises oxygen. After 10- 12 minutes you will feel your body is responding and the run will feel easier. But it happens every run for every runner. Once you realse this it is easier to deal with and to keep going ! πŸ˜€

I was interested to read about the toxic ten. This always happens to me; I really struggle for about the first 12-15 mins and then feel easier after. I am not saying any of it is easy, but I have managed to keep going until the end.

I had trouble with this one too. Like you, I don't know how I managed to finish. I don't know how I kept going - I would long ago have slowed to a walk when it got tough. Let us know how you get on with the next one. I'm hoping for it to get a bit easier 😰

I will! I hope it improves!

It really is a bit of a mind game !

We will keep slogging on , the end is in sight 😁

Come on Sarahb18, you've come this far, remember where you were before week 1 and where you're at now. The finishing line is I. Sight now so grit those teeth and burst through the finishing tape, collect your medal and gloat in your graduation.

I'm on the same rung of the ladder as you, Sarah, so I feel your pain😩.

Tonight I'm AIMING to do W7R2 but I've always done it early morning so far, so not sure how it will suit me, after a day at work :-/. Don't mind if I have to repeat - curious to see how it goes. I've felt sick a few times on no food first thing, just water, so now am drinking water only after lunch & will have half a banana 2 hrs before.

Am nervous at doing something radically different for me 😳 .

Know that feeling too !

You can do it and look how far we've come from week 1.

Good luck , enjoy it and keep slogging on .... the podium is in sight 😍
