Hi, just started couch to 5k today, never done running before as I've always convinced myself that I can't run. I won't say I enjoyed it today but I ran!!! πŸ˜†

Welcome Janie. I finished my last run today as you did your first ( still looking in awe at the Graduate badge next to my name) so forgive my over exuberance πŸ˜‹πŸ˜œ

First let me tell you as many other will I am sure, this is a great program . You have to trust it, believe in it, believe in yourself and more than anything else, take it slow. That means slow as in the pace during a run and slow as in the whole program. If repeating a run or a week is the right thing for you, then do it. Nine weeks is a goal but some people take much longer to complete this and that's fine.🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒🐒

I always say to newbies " You don't have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great"🌟🌟

Well done, you did the hardest part, you got out thereπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

From here on in, you are not alone, you have us, your cyber running buddies. I found this forum invaluable during my undergraduate time. Feel free to ask silly questions, winge and whine when things don't go your way, shout and scream when they do.

After nearly five decades believing I simply could not run, I CAN. You will too.

Keep us postedπŸ’πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΌπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ’

I felt much the same over week one and two, then when I ran week three I was hooked, I admit I was a bit daunted about running/jogging for three minutes, but when I finished the first run on week 3 I can't begin to describe how good it felt, and now I find myself about to finish week 4 run 3 and I've never felt better.

That's the same pattern for me, except I have just done W4 R1

Hi and welcome....:)

The mantra is slow and steady... listen to your body, don't be tempted to rush through the programme. It is a journey not a race.... your journey:)

Just believe in yourself and trust the programme... it will get you very steadily to running for 30 minutes.. and having had fun.

Yay well done! This is the hardest one, the one where you get off the couch and put one foot in front of the other. As everyone tells you slow and steady and believe that it makes things easier πŸ˜€

Yeah, I've started this week to. I'm with you always said I don't run, unless being chased by a group of zombie 😱😱

But that's going to change now, I hope πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ for both of us too.

You can, no doubt about it πŸ™ƒ. On a serious note, however, those rest days are important - take a walk, go for a swim etc. just don't run πŸ˜€, no matter how tempting it might seem. Have fun.

Well done!!! My first day too 😊 Feeling tired but positive. Determined to keep going. Keep me posted on how you're getting on please β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘Ÿβ˜ΊοΈ
