Hurrah it's cool enough to run again

Just. Still hot, but beetroot face and dripping hot rather than expire from heat stroke hot. W7r2 done. Spent first three minutes thinking what a stupid idea, got stitch at 10 minutes (relax stomach muscles and breath deep) played name an animal starting with each letter of the alphabet (arguing with myself about whether imp counts as an animal) thought I would never make it when Laura said 5 minutes left (swore out loud) but still managed to speed up for the last 60 seconds. So good to be back with the programme but really glad I didn't try to run earlier in the week.

Well done - I might try the animal game next time - see if that helps take my mind off the timer !!

Lol! I've never thought about playing brain games - does it help to keep you sane?

A tip I got from someone on this site when I said once I got to long runs instead of breaking it up with walking I found it boring. Not tried it before but it does take your mind off things.

lol. imp is not animal but I think impala is :) Thanks for this reminder of how to keep mind relaxed for longer runs, I have a feeling I may need it later today.

Impala. Good one. I was quite creative at the start, but just could not think of an I. Good luck today.
