Good morning! So today is the day where I run for 3 mins! Dreading it lol got to admit that every time I run it does get easier! Fingers crossed I manage it! Quick question how does everyone plan the route there going to run? Is there a app that shows you the route and distance etc? Can't seem to find anything!
Week3 day 1! Today! : Good morning! So today is... - Couch to 5K
Week3 day 1! Today!
For the early weeks I just did laps around my local park, I know run by the river until the halfway bell sounds and then start heading back.
I think Strava has some built in routes, but I'm not 100% on that
Before I started a new week I used to go out and walk a in in a loop for however long the session was. it is not so important the first few weeks but when you start to do the longer runs with no breaks you need to find a route long enough distance does not matter it is the time you need to concentrate on. It does help that I live in a village which is circled by road it is only now I have gone outside that circle because it is more running in a wide circuit than doing laps.
For short runs, it is reasonably easy to stick to even flat ground. I use Map My Fitness and it is free too. Best advice I can give, have a good slow warm up walk, breathe deeply and slowly to get the oxygen circulating. When you run, keep it as slow as you can, relax your leg muscles and plod on

I ran the same route... not completely flt until the runs got longer. I had nothing other than rough idea of distance, ( from walking) at first... ( Which is probably why I did end up doing 5K t the end of the programme ) duh!!!
You could use Map my run...or even as a basic rough guide Mapometer UK ...
Just go slow and steady
I sometimes use walkjogrun.net to plot a route or see other routes. I also use MapMyRun both to plot on the website, and use the app on my phone while running to record my distance. X
