This was for me the toughest run yet. I'm sitting here and my legs are throbbing! Each run seemed to last a life time. I was searching for some enjoyment but nothing today. The last run with a walking break and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not π
Week 6 Run 2 - Arghhhhh!: This was for me the... - Couch to 5K
Week 6 Run 2 - Arghhhhh!
Hey at least you did it - I've got this run coming up on Thursday reckon I'm going to have to dig deep ππΌββοΈππΌββοΈ
Just remind yourself that you managed week5 run 3! You have done twenty minutes! You can do 10!
It is by far, IMO, the worst run. You got through it and that's the main thing. I swear they only put W6 in there to make us hate interval running so we would enjoy the longer runs once more.
You now have four 25 minute runs ahead of you, which is a good chance to really consolidate your running with consistency. The last several runs have all been different and it is really hard for you to see progress within that.
Well done for getting through this one!
I am doing it tonight. Suspect I will feel the same !! This is fun isn't it???
I'm doing it tonight too. Glad you made it. I am determined to get through no matter what.
I was too. That determination sure is needed for this one. You will certainly feel pleased with getting it done though π
Week 6 is a massive week in the programme. Its a huge hurdle that most of us graduates see as pivotal. After this one you are just adding a few minutes on to the end of your runs, and for me certainly when the runs became enjoyable.
Continual running is all I can do now, once I start walking I can't seem to get going again.
Look back to wk 1 and how you felt about running for 1minute, the c25k journey behind you is way bigger than the one ahead.
If you can finish wk 6 you can finish the programme.
I did w6r2 yesterday and my legs still feel tired but going for r3 tomorrow morning so here's hoping
W6R1 for me this evening. Definitely agree with you that it's getting hard but how good do you feel having managed it? Congratulations and keep at it, I'm literally just behind you
I'm scheduled to do this run tonight. I found W5R3 really hard. I prefer the intervals of walking and am not looking forward to W6R3 of 25 mins, plus I think I may be developing plantar facitis as since W6R1 my left foot arch is tenet and that heel hurts a bit. Doesn't help having flat feet!
Sounds as though you're doing really well, especially if you managed the 20 min run.
I thought the 20 min run at this point must have been a mistake.
Good luck with the run tonight. You can do it! Hope your heel feels better soon. I'm also apprehensive about R3 but will let you know how it goes tomorrow. Fingers crossed I will get through it π
Me too. Did it last night and found it really tough. I felt sick, I wanted to give up...I was dreading week 5 run 3 and it was tough but I felt more like sticking with it than I did last night!
Just realised that your post was 10 months ago!
you got there. all that counts. I stuck my summer jazz on the smartyphone, got michael johnson to take the run with me and off we went. 5min walk, 10min run, 3min walk, 10 min run and 5 minute cool down. got home and promptly necked a litre of bitter lemon to calm my fever (tree). Now its off for a bath and then a movie off amazon prime. Wednesday will be interesting... starting to play with the big boys.
