A lesson learned

Today's running lesson: you can run and cry at the same time.

Sheer frustration at wanting to run but being held back by my shin splints. Even did a 35 min warmup walk before I started.

Althou, I did pull myself up by my big girl pants and I did complete the runs so all in all a success and something to be proud of. No more tears for this bundle of joy!!

I hear ya! I'm just back too after run 2 of week 8. I had a weeks break after being struck down with man flu 😷. I wanted to stop after 18 mins of my run, I was in bits. But then thankfully the Artic Monkeys came on the play list with I bet you look good on the dance floor. That got me through and I finished the 28 minutes.

Of course I almost collapsed afterwards as I coughed up my lung. Then I met a girl I didn't see since school a long time ago. She must have thought I was a mess.πŸ˜‚. Big red face, snot coming down my nose and coughing up my lung. 😰😰.

But hey well done, we did it.πŸ‘

Sorry but this really made me giggle!!! What no pics of red, snot covered lung boy??!! πŸ˜‚ Good effort for completing your run. Glad you're leaving man-flu behind. I've heard it can be really nasty πŸ˜‰

3 cheers to us! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ŠπŸ˜ƒ

Well done... go careful though and get them checked out. You got proper shoes??

Yes. I had a proper fitting etc when I bought them and have since had them checked out by a PT. Might go back and get a pair with stronger heel cushioning when I get my next pair in a couple of months. I guess I'm learning as I go πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

I got them when I was 18. Always had them althou they're worse now I'm bigger. A doc said it was compartment syndrome and he would operate to cut the membrane down my shins. I said no as I didn't fancy the 12" scars down each shin! It's not like I'm Paula Radcliffe πŸ˜‚

I'll keep an eye and revisit a doc if needed.

Thanks though πŸ€—πŸ€—
