Am I the only one who thinks that there should be a week added between W3 & W4 to help transition to TWO 5 MINUTE RUNS? I still managed it! I slowed down my walking pace in between to catch my breath. I find I can't slow my running too much because it makes me feel heavy footed.

I know what you mean. It does feel like a big jump. There is no problem repeating a week if you would prefer to be comfortable before moving on again. I did that a couple of times. The plan does work, in 3 to 4 weeks time you will be amazed that you can run for 28 minutes without stopping and the finish line to graduation will be in sight.

I'm going out later for week 8 run 2.

Nah, you can do it. Don't underestimate all those so called walking 'breaks' in the program - they are exercise in disguise.

I know it may sound silly, by try not to think about the time, just think about your running - 'A watched kettle never boils', as my Mum says.

The fact that you did it shows that you were ready. It's just the gremlins messing with your head!

I'm just back in after my run, 2nd run of week 8. I decided to go off road and run around a few football pitches. After a weeks break due to pulling a muscle in my back and being struck down by man flu 😷 I have to admit I found it really tough going. After 18 minutes I wanted to stop but then the Artic Monkeys came on the play list with I bet you look good on the dance floor. That was enough to get me going again and I managed to keep going and finish the full 28 minutes.

We are are all going to have tough runs. But the plan works, you can do it! I had to repeat that mantra to myself a lot during that run.

Not what you're looking for?
