Running whilst on night shifts

Just thought I'd write a little message as think there's been a post about this from someone who's a student nurse. I'm a nurse in the middle of four consecutive night shifts and didn't want to put off my 2nd run of week 8 any longer...so I've just forced myself out for the run after last night's shift. It was tough going at the start and a wave of tiredness nearly convinced me to stop, but miraculously just plodding along worked and I managed to finish it. I did deliberately took it a bit slower than usual, which seemed to work. So for anyone that's wondering if they should run post night shift, I say give it a go! Hoping it's thoroughly tired me out so I can sleep soundly, and it's cheered me up no end. Good morning/night all!

Woah, that's dedication. I'm a student nurse and no way could I attempt a run after night duty. Hats off to you!

Thanks all for your kind replies! Love the support and friendliness on this forum, so inspiring ☺️ Not the best sleep today but it'll have caught up with me by tomorrow I'm sure, but don't regret the run as it released some all important and much needed endorphins! Happy student nursing treating you well Cazzer, and hope everyone having a lovely weekend with some happy runs
