Hi all I'm a 46yr old UK ex-pat living in NZ & on a trip home for Xmas last year I made a bet with a friend I wud run a 5k parkrun with him when I come home this Xmas!another friend told me about C25k. I ignored it for a few months & then decided to go for it. For the last 20yrs I have never stuck at any exercise or healthy eating plan. I'm always keen, for 2 weeks to be exact, then I epic fail. Lack motivation, hate exercise & have always been lucky to stay skinny despite this. However I'm fed up of always letting myself down; diabetes, high cholesterol etc all 'run' (pardon the pun) in the family & I don't want to let my genes win without a fight! I start week 5 this yr & even though I'm running REALLY slow I am managing it! For someone who has never really exercised I'm amazed I've got this far & amazingly looking forward to the challenge. My friend in the UK believes in me & I'm gonna prove I can do this!!!
