Does it get easier
I don't know if it gets easier but you get used to doing it so maybe it feels, if not easier but more comfortable - that's my experience anyway.
If it's too hard maybe you need to slow down. Approach each run as though you are going on a long distance jog and keep the pace gentle.
Mine feel heavy too
I'm on week 2 follow my vlog Iv made a video of week 1 youtu.be/mvNLRD0Rds0
Hi 3 weeks ago I was in the same boat as you. And I was so close to giving up as just felt I couldn't manage it. But stuck with it and I'm happy to say I just completed week 4. Half of me would say it does get easier as you do learn to pace yourself. Something which I have never been able to do before. Each of the new weeks is a killer but by end of week your wanting more.
Keep with it. The end result will be worth it 😊
It does get easier as you learn how to breathe and pace yourself. Slow down if it feels very uncomfortable. This programme is not about speed or distance. It is just about learning to run for 30 minutes and that will open up a whole new world for you (I'm an addict, can you tell?)
You can do it!
Thanks everyone. Going to stick with it. Using the app to help with weightlost.
It is really tough at the start. Your chest hurts as you get out of breath so easily and everything hurts. It is not easy. It is a real grind, but each time you come home relax and be proud. It will get easier, it is amazing, after a few weeks you will love it. If you have a hard week and if you don't feel comfortable moving onto the next week, just repeat it again.
I have tried loads of times and failed, gave up after 4 to 5 weeks. But this time I am really enjoying it. For me it's this forum which is the motivation I needed. I'm not a fan of Social media, don't have a facebook or any other account other than Whatsapp. I stumbled across this Forum and it has given me great Motivation, I don't feel like I am doing this on my own.
So stick with it, stay on the forum and post all the good along with the bad and before the end of the summer you will be a graduate.
Maybe not easier but you get used to it. Each week ramps it up a little so you're always pushing yourself but the steps are so gradual that it's no harder than the first. In a way you done the hardest bit, getting started. If you find a run particularly hard or you find you have to walk a bit then simply repeat the run next time. You will get there!
Honestly? It's never going to be easy. But... every step you take, makes you more 'able'. You will be pushed, but in such small increments that your body will adapt. The first runs are hard. You are asking a lot of your muscles (your legs might moan at you) but little by little they will strengthen. Don't forget to take your rest days and there is no such thing as 'too slow' (you'll hear that a lot). Slow and steady, post about your progress (good or bad) and take advantage of the camaraderie on here too. Looking forward to cheering you on!😊
