I am also overweight, not so much since starting C25K and changing my eating habits.

This programme is awesome, yes it's daunting, I did W1 wondering how I would ever do W2 but this morning I completed W5R2 and enjoyed it immensely.

I've got a long way to go before I'm where I want to be, but thanks to C25K and the great people on this forum I'm getting closer to my goals everyday.

Go for it, take it slow and steady, find a pace that works for you and you will feel so much better for it, besides, what have you got to lose from giving it a go?

Hi, I would describe myself the same way and I've just finished week 5 with a 20 minute continual run, and get this, I'm enjoying running now! You can do it, the first one is the hardest, but it will be the biggest step you take. Good luck. X

Hi thanks for the support, I know I need to do this and I think I am going to go for it!

the programme is for people of all ages, sizes, weights and abilities. You only have to do it very, very slowly. Much of the early weeks are walking with very short jogging bits, so don't worry

You can take your time. No hurry.

good luck!

Same! I am about 8stone overweight. I've just done W4R1 and it's been the best thing I have done. Don't overthink it, plug in the headphones and put your trainers on and start. You will be buzzing.

If it was me I would start slowly, meaning not running the full minute yet, just try 30 seconds, then next week or later try the 60.

I'm about 4 stone overweight and I'm currently on w4 r3 ive not lost a pound but thats because I've not changed my eating habits. I'm not ready, first i gave up smoking nearly 3 months ago and now i'm working on fitness levels and then i will start eating better. I just thought that if i do everything at once i will quit, so i'm doing it in stages. The running isn't easy but if you're determined and you go at your own pace you will get there. If you don't complete a run just keep trying until you do and then move on to the next. Post regularly, drink lots of water and ask for advice these guys are amazing ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Enjoy your journey

Adopted the same strategy here, I normally think in black and white and all or nothing, and I've failed time and again making all radical changes at once. Have started on fitness levels too and don't intend to make any major changes in my eating habits until I've built up a solid exercising habit. The only thing I've done with my diet is cooking from fresh ingredients and reducing by 90% the amount of snacks that I eat.

Rosemary1969 : I'm five stone overweight and am on W6R3. I'm actually enjoying it, although every time I get out there it's a fight against myself and my body which is so used to being comfortable. It's important to realise that you can do more than your body thinks it can. If you're not used to exercising then any kind of mild discomfort is going to feel like you're about to die. You're not. You CAN do this. And you'll be so happy with yourself once you do!

Hi I'm 4 stones overweight! Take it slow. Add in a rest day if you are actually hurting (you know when that's a thing), just do it. As fatties we get so used to feeling like failures. If we do this together, we can say 'yes I run' only you know how awesome that will feel! X

Your body and mind are amazing, you just have to believe it! I'm 8 stone overweight and I can't quite believe it but I'm on week 9. I won't lie, week 1 was awful for me, every minute felt like a lifetime but every session I did left me feeling positive. I've only lost a few pounds but I've not altered my food habits - the inch loss is amazing though. 3" on hips, 3" on waist and 1" on chest. Happy dance!!!! Smile, trainers on, earphones in and get out there.

Hi Rosemary

Iโ€™m overweight and just managed to make it to week 7 run 2 , 25 mins run. Just take it really slowly at your own pace. Itโ€™s taken me 12 weeks to get to week 7 !

Good luck , trust the program it does really work. Go for it!
