Week 2

Hi :)

I have just started the 9 week running programme and have done run 1 of week 2.

I'm doing this to lose weight and get fitter and build my confidence.

I'm feeling really conscious when out running but hoping this will change in time :)

There's been a lot of post recently about feeling self conscious and equally lots of positive replies. Just like when you want to lose weight there are saboteurs out there who are really just jealous that you are doing something for yourself. So get out there, get in your own zone, and don't worry.

Helloooo! I'm in exactly the same position as you. I did W2R1 today. Are you finding that you feel accomplished when you finish each run? That's the main thing that's keeping me going. It has surprised me how many offers of running partners I've had since starting, I never realised so many people did it. I ran with my friend this morning, who runs occasionally. She is a bit older than me, and very petite and slim (I'm not!!) She kept to my pace with the podcast, and chatting kept me going - the time went by so much faster! I think we're going to try to run together once a week if we can. Does anyone know you're doing the C25K? You might find someone to run with, it's great for breaking the monotony as well as being good for your confidence!

Hi :)

Yes I am feeling accomplished after each run I must say, although I did find this run hard! You're right, I've been for a run with my husband last week when I first started and it did help and didn't feel quite so long.

Keep in mind ur food diary too. Try my fitness pal app, I use it to log exercise and what ever I eat and it tracks ur progress and calories intake.

I am actually! I'm proud of myself for sticking with it. I've got run 3 of week 3 tomorrow and went to my local park for my run yesterday :) still feeling a bit conscious but not as bad. I just plug in my ear phones and away I go!

Not what you're looking for?
