Glad to say that I can now run for 8 minutes at a time. Most importantly I am overcoming feeling self conscious everyone I leave the house in my running gear. Met two other people running today, both were clearly fitter that me bit neither laughed, looked horified, two sets of smiles and a puffed Hello!
Take heart fellow self conscious runners, we are running!

You have to remember the fact that they may look fitter than but they are still having they're own personal challenges. A wave, a nod, all show appreciation of what you are doing.
I'm only new to running but fortunately a 10 mile trail runs along the back of my house - perfect for running.
However it's used by loooads of cyclists, joggers and dog walkers so I've been getting up at 6 to go running when there are fewer people about.
Today I went out at 7:30 and saw so many people - still a bit self conscious but no-one cares!
We're our own worse enemy, we need to learn to relax and enjoy it, everyone has their own starting point, it doesn't matter how fit everyone else is in comparison (so I keep telling myself!) 🙂
When I started 4 weeks ago I was soo self conscious of how I looked (big, puffing and red in the face) but passer-bys didn't take any notice and all the other runners smiled and said hello, they made all the difference, just that simply smile boasted me no end. So I just wanted to say Thank You to all you runners.
