I planned to go today but we did a 14 mile walk yesterday. So not exactly a rest day. What should I do?

Have your run.

'Rest' day simply means no running, no high impact, and walking is a different movement.

You might even find the run helpful to loosen up after the rigours of the walk!

I would say it depends whether you are used to 14 mile walks or not. If you are then go for a run and take it gently. If you're not used to walks of that distance then I'd go for a run the next day instead. I say this from experience after doing a walk twice the length I was used to doing, then ran the next day which put me out of action for 4 weeks. So I'd say if you usually do 14 mile walks then go for it. Otherwise maybe go for a short walk round the block today to keep yourself moving and do your next run tomorrow.

In the words of Dan John 'Can you go?'

If the answer is yes, then go.

If not, don't.

I did it. Not very fast but nevertheless, finished it. Up until now I've found it quite doable but
