Three weeks of no running...😩

...and really missing it now - although if the truth be told, I couldn't have run the way I have been feeling anyway! Now I have given in to antibiotics and hope I will back out there 'some time soon'! Running has really helped me with managing stress/anxiety over the last couple of years and when I can't run...πŸ˜©πŸ˜–πŸ˜©! Here's hoping that anyone else stuck on the ic for illness or injury, makes a swift recovery soon too!πŸ˜€πŸƒπŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Hang in there. I was almost two weeks off because of the storms - but oh man, the joy of that first run again and how much new appreciation that I can run made up for it. Wishing you a speedy recovery though also ;)

Try six weeks (and counting) and see what you think. πŸ˜€

It's not just that I miss it, but also feel sluggish, I've put on some weight and my headaches are back.

I'm currently struggling with PF and still have few weeks (hopefully) to recover properly.

Hang in there!

PF? 6 weeks = πŸ™πŸ™. Along while ago, I tore a calf muscle and was sidelined for a VERY long time...but we heal and we get back out there. Hope you're back running soonπŸ™‚

Hi Sandra - I hope you start to feel better soon.

Take it gently when you do go back to running - I'd advise you to start with a couple of easy runs instead of launching back into your usual schedule. I gave blood 3 weeks ago and am still feeling a major lack of energy, so I am currently doing micro-runs of 3 mins at a time, and using these to work on pace and posture.

Good luck, and I hope you're back on your feet before long!

Hope you get back out there and on your trails very soon Sandra! Frustrating ! πŸ˜•But you will not have lost much fitness I'm sure, look how quickly you got back in the swing of things after your 1st enforced spell on the IC!

Look after yourself xxx

Thanks Ali. I do think the 'evil' antibiotics are starting to kick in! Hate having to take them but I really wasn't getting any better. My gp is helping me look in to why I might be a bit run down, which is good but for now I am just focusing on getting well and a gentle return to my trails! They are lonely without me!!πŸ™‚ x

Aw Sandra not being able to run is just the worst. But you know what? You're a runner and this is temporary and you'll get out there again soon. I'll take you out on a trail run on Monday and we'll have a fab time πŸ€—

Sending you xxx

Sandra, we went on a little trail run this morning. It was damp but perfect for running. We saw one other lady runner and no one else so we had the place to ourselves. Running over tree roots, forest floor and occasionally a little grass. Not much mud as it hasn't rained that much recently πŸ™‚

A gentle 5K but with a few shorts bursts of speed thrown in which we both found exhilarating and then we giggled like a couple of kids πŸ€— It was fab!

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did xxx

I feel for you! 'They' all say - and I think I've experienced it - that your body doesn't have to start from scratch again after a break. If that's true, it just shows how important it is to just start. Like gold in the bank. Good luck - and well done for posting.

Thanks Gillma - and that is definately true. I graduated a couple of years ago now and all our hard work is not lost overnight.! The last time I had a few weeks out through illness (before Christmas), I was soon back on my long runs! It is very much part of 'the journey' but I cannot wait to be back out there!πŸ™‚
