Happy to have completed W2R3 this morning. I was slightly unsure as to whether I'd manage it as my knee was a little twingy last night, but it was totally fine this morning, and not feeling any after effects. Haven't had my first attempt at C25K beset by injuries, I'm very careful to ensure I do plenty of stretching so I don't seize up!!
W2R3 in the bag!: Happy to have completed W2R... - Couch to 5K
W2R3 in the bag!
Well done! Keep going, slowly! 😃
Well done Sarah ... be careful with that knee. I'm off to be last in the local Parkrun again tomorrow: given up feeling embarrased. I've got to W5R2 this fourth time round, stalled (deliberately for once!!) for a few days because I've joined a local running club beginners class as well and have my planned Parrkrun tomorrow, so probably early next week.
You know davidhwynn I think that is absolutely the right attitude (giving up feeling embarrassed) and the key to success. I've yet to aspire to a parkrun but I so admire anyone who turns up at a parkrun, works darn hard for 40++ minutes. How much more effort, determination and sheer guts does that take, compared to a naturally gifted runner or gym bunny?
My advice: don't put off doing a Parkrun. I was going to have my tomorrow Parkrun as my very first (my birthday is (don't ask, lost count) this Sunday so that was why I picked this date originally. My elite athlete granddaughter bullied me to just get on with it (I think she used words like "wimp" etc), so that's why it is actually my Parkrun 3 tomorrow rather than my first. She was right - they are great, super-friendly and not at all scary once you're in that group in the park.
