Hi I just did my first session today and to say I struggled was an understatement. Was anyone else this unfit when they started? If so did it get easier?

Yes nearly everyone! That's why we all pitched up here

You take each run at a time, do it very slowly, go home and rest if possible 🙂 If you go very slowly you buy time. It's just about getting to the end of the session. Give yourself a chance!

The programme is designed to stretch you every week. I think we can all say that we were not at our fittest when we started - you just need to look at all the posts about niggles, pains, and struggles to see that you are not on your own. I am now on week 8 and graduation is nearing - I thought that I would never be able to manage to run non-stop for as long as I can now. There will be weeks when the gremlins will strike but at the end of the day if you keep to the weekly sessions and take the rest days you will build up your stamina. If you need to repeat weeks, then do so, I did.

I've just started too and I did run 2 of week one today and surprisingly feel so much better than my first (My first I was in agony)! My feet are sore but mentally I feel better for doing it!

I did week 5 run 2 today and I can't believe that I have managed to get this far. The first session felt sooooo tough, I was completely out of breath, my heart was pounding and I was sweating everywhere and I nearly gave up, I felt so unfit. BUT that is why I decided to start C25K in the first place and it must be working because today I ran for 8 minutes, twice! It still doesn't feel real that I have been working on it for 5 weeks.

Every session has been hard, around week 3 and the start of week 4 I started to feel that I would never be a runner, that I could never keep up with this but I am still going. I just tell myself it doesn't matter if I go slow because it isn't going to make the time go any faster. Keep going and have faith in yourself. Good Luck!
