I am planning to do this one with my daughter - hoping to pace her well enough to get in under the 60 minute mark, it will be particularly special as we just lost my dad who was a serious runner in his time - 2 hours 38 for a marathon type serious Anyone else doing this one?

Great Women's Run in Glasgow
I'm really sorry to read this. It's a tough time but how special to have that memory of your dad. He was definitely a fast runner!
I've just done the Great Bristol Run, part of the Great Run series, and it was brilliantly organised so I'm sure you and your daughter will have a great time.
Oh Marina , I am so so sorry for your loss . I have just replied to your other post and asked how your dad was doing - I am so sorry I didn't read this post first
My deepest sympathies to all of you . I know your Dad was such an inspiration to you and he would be so proud of you .
Take care and take time to grieve . You are in my thoughts and prayers . God Bless xxx
Thank you so much Poppy - I have to say running helps! We had a lot of time to chat with him before he died so, in my opinion we were very lucky - very few have that luxury.
Ahh that must've been a great comfort to you both xxx
It was great. I was arranging his running medals (winners medals - not participation ones like mine) and I asked about a particular one that involved running from one town to another then halfway up a mountain and all the way back again - google Cloughmore in Rostrevor if you want to get an idea of what I am talking about. He came first! A young man that he trained added a bit to the story - they nearly missed the run because they were in the pub having a pint! They were called out of the pub and bolted to the start line just in time - I can barely drink water before a run never mind a pint of what was probably Guinness!
Ha ha ! Ah lots of lovely memories to treasure xxx
All runners, like father, like daughter, like granddaughter. I'm so sorry for your loss.
