Not sure if you are looking for "efficiently breathing" or " just want to be able to breathe"
If the latter, it DOES get easier just like your running. I have asthma and still breathe very harshly - handy though to warn walkers I'm behind them - and no way can I just nose breath. But it is definitely ten thousand times better than when I started.
Slow down until you find you can breathe easily. This is your pace for longer distance. If you want to sprint, be prepared to be breathless, and you wont be able to keep it up for long.
All good advice given, There's a guy who runs at Parkrun who sounds like steam train coming from behind, he goes past me! been at it a lot longer than me I suspect! I would ask him if he's an asthma sufferer, but he's usually finished and gone home by the time I go over the finish line! maybe I'll catch him one day!😁
Slow down... find your comfy pace... and just breathe
I suffer with post nasal drip and every time Laura says to concentrate on my breathing and breath through my nose I totally lose the plot.
Thanks everyone for the comments
Slow right down if your breathing is bad until it regulates . I sometimes find counting backwards helps , because I am concentrating on something else my breathing regulates itself . Good luck
