Song lyrics while running...

Every time I listen to the podcasts I find extra lyrics which amuse me with how appropriate or ironic they seem in the moment and I wondered if anyone else finds this. My favourites (or at least the ones I can remember now!) are:

Week 1 - end of the session ‘this is the greatest day’

Week 2 or 3, ‘can’t do this long distance thing’

Week 4 (as I’m running at night under a clear sky and admiring the stars) - ‘there’s a constellation filled with your mistakes; they are there to guide you...’

What other gems have made you laugh or wince as you’ve been running to music?

I was running this morning, gritting my teeth during the first 5-minute run. Listening to Radiohead, and Thom Yorke was singing "It wears her out", over and over again! Wanted to laugh but didn't have any extra breath for that!

ohh and more Radiohead, when dying at the end of a run - "you do it to yourself, you do, and that's what really hurts"

There are loads that make me laugh. I find myself answering Pink on a regular basis. Shakira Wherever, whenever has very strange lyrics which always makes me titter. CheapTrick’s Surrender is funny too 😁

Nine Simone’s Feeling Good is always inspirational 💪👍

Haha great replies. For me, every time I hear Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Bad Moon Rising" on my playlist I smile at the lyrics, " I know the end is coming soon" and if it's a particularly hard run, " I hope you are quite prepared to die". I haven't died yet although I've felt like it at times 😩

I love creedence 😁💪👍

I was thinking about this thread this morning as my run was terrible because stupidly I put my faith in my phone. Idiot! The damn phone was scrolling through my ring tones and interfering with my tunes. It sounded like Gladys Pugh’s bing bongs. Morning campers. Feck off! Shouts I. I had to stop umpteen times to sort it out as it keep on playing heck with my tunes When I finally sorted it out, at nearly 10 k into the flippin run, Paranoid came on “people think i’m Insane because I am frowning all the time. All day long I think of things but nothing seems to satify. think I’ll lose my mind if I don’t find something to pacify. Can you help me occupy my brain?😁. It really made me laugh and cheered me up.

Another one popped up. Shotgun by junior walker, “we’re gonna dig pataters, we gonna pick tomayters, which made me smile as it’s exactly what I do 🥔🍅😁

I love it when a lyric and a run come together...I don't programme my songs but sometimes I'm "running up that hill" with Kate Bush before going "into the valley" with the Skids. Best of all is when Jackie WIlson says (Your love keeps lifting me) Higher & Higher and I think of this lovely forum, sentimental old fool that I am.

"I feel it coming" (Daft Punk) really was playing when I had my toilet incident/Radcliffe moment the other week.

I have considered removing it from my playlist. I will certainly be nervous next time it comes round on shuffle!
