Week 1 Run 3

Completed run 3 of the first week and everything is aching! Does the shin pain ease off as you get more used to running? Bring on week 2 ( I think?!)

Almost certainly! Likely just your body saying " you want me to do what???"

Make sure you stretch well after each run, then my favorite remedy for shins is ice and elevation. Lie on couch ( yes, the one you were supposed to up off!) with feet higher than torso. Frozen peas on shins.

I haven't been at this very long and I'm sure there will be other more experienced people along soon to give you other suggestions.

Well done, getting this far and keep going!!

Hmm. I didn't do the stretching and the pain kept me awake last night. Done plenty of stretching today as a result! Seems better now but the brisk walk at lunchtime kicked it off again. I've never been able to run - can swim happily at a reasonable pace for hours but run??! I love it when my helpful friends say it's easy cos it's anything but for me! thanks for your support and the peas are ready in the freezer!
