I am on week 2 of C25K and really enjoying it - not something I would have ever thought I would be saying! My 10 year old son started out with me but quickly got bored with the stopping and starting. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how I can motivate him to start running a bit more. Are there any programs out there that are better aimed at children?
Thanks!

Hi there, I wrote this not long after I started C25k - my son was 11 then, hes 15 now and we still run together. He did run very long distances with me but thats not for everyone...
Can you enter a race with where he will get a medal? Nothing like a piece of bling for motivation. Some events have separate children's races, or find a virtual race that you could do together.
Does he have the energy to keep running a bit more while you're walking? He could run two lamp posts ahead then run back to you while you're walking (and repeat if necessary).
Or you could try to use the time to chat.
Or you could set him some challenges like finding/noticing 5 things of a different colour for each walking break.
Thanks for the replies everyone. He's completely lost interest so I'm going to leave it for a bit as I don't want to put him off all together. I'll have another go when I can keep going for a bit long we and try some of your suggestions 😄
